Bio:
Catself worked among other things as a berrypicker, English teacher, waitress and a dog handler in the Arctic, all the time making music on the side and playing her songs in pubs whenever an opportunity arose. Having realised that she is better at that than at all the other things she had done, she decided to focus on music full time and made the first home recordings of some of her songs at the end of 2008.
Catself records all tracks by herself, playing the guitar, piano, some shakers and virtual instruments which she records realistically enough to have fooled a lot of listeners that she plays with a complete orchestra. She aims for a realistic, acoustic sound. In live performances, Catself doesn't want to use playback so she performs her songs with the guitar, piano, harmonica, shaker and sometimes with other musicians if there is anyone around.
Since posting her tracks online, Catself has got airplay on radio stations on so far four continents: Europe (including the Netherlands), North America, Australia and Africa. Her profile on MySpace brought her several invitations to play in various countries, which she always accepts and follows - even if a festival sponsor backs out and the car breaks down hundreds of km from the destination, as it happened on the way to the Sun Festival in Marrakech, Morocco in summer 2009 - the most exotic place where Catself has performed so far.
Catself travels a lot in Europe looking for performing opportunities and very frequently stays in the Netherlands, also for longer periods of time.

Reviews:
In a world of sound-alike music, Catself is producing unique songs that don't always go where you might expect, and that's a very good thing. The fact she can do so with the result being memorable and capable of repeated listening is the sign of a rare talent. - Michael Hunter, music journalist and radio host
Admirably fierce, uncompromising, intelligent, deep, radiant & with generosity of spirit. Listen to everything she does & watch her blossom & bloom. - Ariel, musician
Catself has music as interesting and unique as her name is. Her music reminds me of a nouveau-celtic sound. Her guitar style is clean and soothing. Her voice fit her unique style of music quite nicely. Have a listen. - Clive Barratt, musician
Wow, a blast of fresh air, energy, intelligence, and musicality to spare. Agnieszka is clearly worthy of your attention. I'm impressed. - Ray Baisden, fan
The honesty in her music is so compelling it makes you want to follow her. Beautiful, light and somehow sensual. - Jacomo Williams, fan
Great songs, beautiful voice, such a talented lady: Poland..s gift to Finland..s music world!!! - Ossi Tikkanen, fan
I like it when an artist makes original music. Sadly, the music of most artists who try to be original is not nice to listen to any more. Catself has the ability to make music that is both very original and nice to listen to. That was my first thought when I listened to her music for the first time and I still love listening to it months later. The lyrics are also original but what is the most important for me is Catself's original and catchy melodies, arrangements and voice. I am sure that also listeners who are normally more into the mainstream kind of sound will enjoy her songs. - Johan Jongerius, founder of TalentCast
After ignoring sellaband for some months, I stumbled somehow onto Catself. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. It's different from everything, and it's good. Really good. I can barely wait for her to reach 50k. - Minus (Rosy), fan
